Muddy garden to artificial lawn in one day
A small back lawn that had gone to mud, dug out and laid in artificial grass in a single day.
You see this one in gardens all over Ireland. A small lawn boxed in by paving gets very little sun, the grass thins out, and every time it rains the ground turns to mud.
We dug out the old turf and soil and took it away. In went a stone base, compacted so the rain drains down through it, with a finer layer on top to level it off. The artificial grass was rolled out over that and cut in neatly along the edge of the paving, and the whole lot was finished the same day. Another muddy garden transformation in one day, as John would say.
It’ll look the same in January as it does in July, and there’s no more mud coming in the back door after rain.
