Artificial grass laid on a concrete yard
A bare concrete yard between the house and the hedge, covered in artificial grass without digging anything out.
A concrete yard is handy, but it’s cold and grey to look out at. Covering one in artificial grass is one of the quickest jobs we do, because nothing has to be dug out and there’s no old soil to get rid of.
What matters is the water. The concrete needs a fall so rain runs off it instead of lying under the grass, and this yard already had a drain in it. Where water would sit, we add drainage points, and where it’s wanted a foam underlay goes down first so the yard is softer underfoot. Then the grass is rolled out, fixed down and trimmed along the edges, right up to the hedge.
