# Garden putting greens

> With a putting green out the back you can practise on a wet Tuesday in February, and there's no mowing or rolling to keep it right. We build them on their own or as part of a full artificial lawn.

Provider: Lawn & Order Artificial Grass, Ferns, Co. Wexford. Covers Wexford, Waterford and Wicklow. Phone/WhatsApp 083 123 3533. Page: https://lawnandorder.ie/artificial-grass-installation/putting-greens/

- **True roll**: A putting surface has a short, dense pile so the ball rolls smoothly. A longer lawn pile wouldn't give you that.
- **Your shape, your holes**: Curved edges, a few holes and flags, maybe a gentle borrow or two. The green is laid out to suit your garden.
- **Combined with a lawn**: A green can sit inside a full artificial lawn, with a fringe of longer grass around the edge.
- **Year-round practice**: Nothing to mow, roll or treat, and you can still get out on it in winter when the course is shut.

## Designing your green

Each green we build is shaped to the garden it's going into. Tell us roughly how big you'd like it, how many holes, and if you'd like a bit of slope to read. The base matters even more here than under a lawn, because any dip or bump in the stone shows up in the roll of the ball. It's compacted and levelled carefully before the putting surface goes down.

For a quote, send a photo of where you'd like the green and some rough measurements, or ring John if you'd rather talk it through. We build putting greens anywhere in Wexford, Waterford and Wicklow.

## Questions
### How big does a garden putting green need to be?

Even a small area gives you useful practice on short putts. A bigger green lets you add more holes and longer putts. Send us the measurements and a photo or two, and we'll suggest a layout.

### Can a putting green go into an existing lawn?

Yes. We can set a putting surface into a new or existing artificial lawn and finish it with a fringe of longer grass, so it looks like part of the garden and not a mat dropped on top.
