# Artificial grass for graves

> Keeping a family grave tidy is hard going when you can't get there often. We clear the plot and fit deep-pile artificial grass inside the kerbs, so it looks well every time you visit.

- **Neat all year**: No weeds coming up through the gravel and no grass to cut. The grave looks well kept whenever you're there.
- **Deep-pile grass**: We use a thick, deep-pile grass that looks well against granite and marble surrounds.
- **Fitted to the surround**: The plot is cleared and levelled and a membrane goes down. Then the grass is cut to sit snug inside the kerbs.
- **Before Christmas and anniversaries**: A lot of families like it done for Christmas or an anniversary. For Christmas, get in touch early in November.

## How we cover a grave in artificial grass

1. **Photo and quote.** Send a photo of the grave, taken from the foot so we can see the whole plot and the kerbs, and tell us which cemetery it's in.
2. **Check the rules.** Every cemetery has its own regulations, and we make sure the work is allowed before we start.
3. **Clear and level.** Old gravel, chippings and weeds are lifted out and the plot is levelled.
4. **Membrane.** A weed membrane goes down so nothing grows up through from below.
5. **Fit the grass.** The deep-pile grass is cut to fit inside the kerbs and fixed in place. A grave is often done in a day.

## Looking after it

When you visit, give it a quick brush and lift off any leaves or old flower wrappings. Nothing else is needed. ### Are you allowed to put artificial grass on a grave?

A lot of cemeteries allow it, but parish and council burial grounds each have their own rules. It needs to be checked before any work starts, and we can help you with that.

### What happens to the gravel or stones on the grave?

We lift the old gravel or chippings and take them away. Then the plot is levelled and a membrane goes down before the grass goes in.
